When you schedule an email for learners, group leaders, or admins as part of a Cohort Workflow, it will be triggered at the specified time using WordPress’s event scheduler.

At the scheduled time, all pending emails are added to a queue. A secondary scheduled task then processes this queue, sending emails in batches of 25 every minute. This batching helps prevent overloading the system, especially on sites with a high volume of groups or workflows.

Please note, with larger numbers of emails, slight delays may occur, so emails might not always be sent at the exact minute scheduled.

Cohort Manager emails are sent via WordPress’s native wp_mail() function, which means they follow the same delivery method as other system emails. If you have a third-party plugin configured to send emails via SMTP, Cohort Manager emails will also use this method.
