How to show overbranding to users before they log in

Estimated reading: 1 minute 138 views

By default, a user’s organization is determined by their user profile in your platform. However, if you want to provide an overbranded experience for an organization’s users even before they log in, you can do this by sending them to a special link.

To find this link, go to your organization’s page on the WordPress dashboard. At the bottom of the page, you will find a section titled “Assign organization by cookie.”

Assign organization by cookie

Essentially, you can link a visitor to any page on your site and append “?b2b_organization_id=[Organization ID here]” to the URL.

Once a user visits this page, a cookie will be set on their browser, which will recognize them as being part of the relevant organization. They will be able to browse your site and view the organization’s logo and/or custom CSS, if applicable.

However, if the user logs in, their user profile will override the cookie’s organization assignment.

Please note that the cookie will expire at the end of the browsing session. Therefore, users will need to use the special link each time they visit your platform to ensure that the organization branding displays each time.
